Mark from Rooftop Films took this one
150-200 people watch Stan on a Brooklyn street. Somehow it all came together.
Rooftop Screening, Saturday May 30th
It was pretty crazy to say the least! The screening went really well, so thank you everyone for coming out. It is truly a thrill and an honor to hear some of the things people said afterwards about the film. I can’t say enough how much it means to us that people connect with the film in the ways they have.
Now the crazy part—- THE STUNT!!!! I’m not sure I can put in words...

Thank you Austin!
Totally exhausting, but a lot of fun. So thank you to everyone who came to one of the screenings. The film seems to be picking up really good buzz and I know it’s a good sign when people come up to me a day or two after they saw the film and start acting out scenes and quoting lines from it.
It’s not “news” per se, but the best parts of my trip actually happened after the...
SXSW!!!!
Rainy and cold here— but luckily, I am not here for the weather!
Got here Thursday morning after literally staying up the whole night. So I am still pretty tired, but also excited about the screening. There seems to be a pretty good buzz going on about the film. This morning I overheard some people talking about it in the lobby of the convention center, with one guy saying how much he...

Early in the morning and looking a little goofy, but here I am talking about the film on the local television station… Right after the weather!

Thank you Park City...
Leaving town first thing in the morning… had planned to write my own reviews of some of the Sundance films I saw while here… Old Partner, Humpday, the Yes Men movie… as well as my impressions of Sundance vs. Slamdance, etc…. but nothing like a little success to silence the inner critic in me. So I’ll save them for another time.
In the meantime, just wanted to say...
Park City Day 9
Spent most of Saturday in a sleep-deprived daze from my marathon day on Friday…(I had woken up at 6:30am for an interview with the Park City Television Station—I’ll post it as soon as this old laptop can do the processing to convert the file—and my day lasted without a nap until 5:00 that morning with the awards celebration after party.)
Last night had a nice dinner with...
Best Documentary!!!!
I have this huge smile on my face as I write those words! It’s funny— I really didn’t enter this thinking of it as a competition, but still those words can cause a grin…. I’ll post some photos later, but just wanted let everyone know how grateful and honored I feel.
As I was joking to one of the Zombie Girl guys last night… I may have to rename my company...
Park City Day 6
So the screenings finished up yesterday morning… over all, feel pretty good about it. Wasn’t the biggest audience, but the film definitely seemed to resonate with the people it was supposed to. After Wednesday screening, I was walking down the street and ran into some people who had come to the Tuesday showing—they were full of questions about the film… really just...
"A small audience, but a mighty one"
was a line I once heard Stan use at one of his shows…. Running out to a meeting now, so I’ll write more about both screenings later, but that’s kind of what I’m feeling. Wasn’t the biggest audience, but they seemed to really get the film. Something about the way they asked questions afterwards makes me cautiously hopeful that this might be the film that remains...
Inauguration Day!
Hard not to smile… This morning I went down to the main square here and watched the coverage on the screens that I had been set up… It was just really nice… Afterwards, a small group of people started dancing and hugging eachother.
What will you do now? That’s a question, I get asked a lot these days. I dunno…smile more easily. Truthfully, I was ready to go out...
Park City Day 3
So it’s Monday night here, my third full day here in Park City… The weekend here was pretty crazy seeming….just tons of people all over the place. Regulars were all saying that the turnout was light—that there just wasn’t the kind of crowds from previous years—but for my first experience here, between the fur coats, the mini-skirts, the anti-fur protesters,...
STRONGMAN in the New York Times CITY ROOM!
So, in Park City now… I’ll write more about that later (the scene here is too strange not to find some good words for) … but just wanted to let everyone know that Jennifer 8 Lee wrote a really nice item about funding the film with the playing cards for the New York Times… Admist all the rush of travel and the anxiety of trying to get your bearings in Salt Lake City where...
Website up....
And running!!! Many thanks to Pamela for her excellent work in pulling it all together… Having been a one-man band for so long on this, it’s fun to have other people pop up on stage for some of these final pieces.
So, now I have an official website for the film. By the lights of our modern virtual world, I guess that means it’s a real film now… ;-)
And I guess if...
